i think there are rules

3:37

and we’ve forgotten them

3:37

we remember them from time to time

3:37

which is what beauty is

3:38

i think society could be beautiful

3:38

i wish it were

3:38

i’m just trying to figure it out

3:38

and help it get there

3:39

that’s all i care about

3:39

but it’s so easy to lose faith

3:39

i need faith in something

Mathematics bases its faith on the Peano axioms, among others. Mathematics is also a source of great beauty and benign power. Oftentimes I find myself staring down a dark road. My mind makes it dark and fills the shadows along the road with malevolent forms, or worse, formlessness and disorder. But I find if I state the axiom that there isn’t darkness the road becomes enchanting, tempting, worth exploring. Of course the darkness is still there. But now I can see.
